Dachstein Panorama Road

Beautiful Hikes at the Foot of the Dachstein South Face

The Dachstein panorama road connects Ramsau with the Alpine pastures at the foot of Styria’s highest mountain, the Dachstein. The mountain road was built in 1961 and it winds its way along 6.3 km up to 1,700 m, to the bottom station of the Dachstein glacier’s gondola lift. Experience breathtaking scenic beauty with stunning views across the Schladming Tauern, to the Bischofsmütze, the Rötelstein, and the Dachstein’s splendid south face.

Whether by car, by motor bike, or by public bus, the Dachstein panorama road is starting point for many walks through the sprawling Alpine pastures, featuring rustic mountain huts and the top attraction, the Dachstein.

Toll Road

In winter, present your toll-road ticket at the top station of the Dachstein gondola lift and/or at the cash desk of Adler ski lifts and it will be stamped, allowing you free use of the toll road.  In Summer, the Dachstein toll road is free with a valid Schladming Dachstein Summercard. In May, June, October, and November the fee is discounted with the Ramsau GästeCard.
