Walking village of Ramsau am Dachstein
The sunny plateau of Ramsau lies like a balcony approx. 350 m above Schladming at the foot of the Dachstein south walls.
Well-earned refreshment stops in quaint mountain huts or restaurants with sunny terraces are part and parcel of a hike. Invigorated with home cooking and local delicacies from the Ramsau "organic region" the walking experience becomes a culinary experience. Try doughnuts, gnocchi or Styrian cheese.

The resort stretches along 18 km in a sunny south-facing direction above the Enns Valley. The "Ahorntal" (Maple Valley), as Ramsau is also known, is divided into three levels:
 | | Ramsau high plateau from 1,100 - 1,400 m Gentle hikes and walks - refreshment stops at quaint mountain huts.
Alpine hiking 1,500 - 1,700 m The Ramsau alpine pasture area is an absolute insiders' tip. Sunny footpaths and trails connect the traditional refuges and mountain huts.
|
Dachstein Glacier region - Adventure hike in the wonderful world of rock & ice from the Dachstein Glacier to the Dachsteinwartehütte 2,700 m, peak climb of the Hoher Dachstein 3,004 m, Glacier hike over the Dachstein Glacier (2,700 m) to the Guttenberghaus - weekly walks organised by the Tourist Office.
Base for many climbing trail walks - absolute highlight is the Dachstein climbing trail "Der Johann".
