Winter hiking – experience Nature at its purest!
Winter hiking – as far as your boots will carry you
In addition to its expertise in the field of cross-country skiing, Ramsau has always prepared winter hiking trails and developed a perfect infrastructure. Wide trails – 4 m wide – are trodden and prepared at the start of winter and are then available, away from the road, to horse-drawn sleighs and hikers.

Rambling and winter hiking trails Over 70 km in total. Three large circuits have been laid out, accessing the high plateau. When combined with the 60-cm wide winter trails (prepared using a skidoo), the result is an attractive network of paths that even go as high as the mountain pastures at 1,700 m. |
The wide hiking trails are mostly flat, on open, sunny sites, so that people can walk two and three abreast. The only traffic coming in the opposite direction is the many horse-drawn sleighs. The trails mostly run round the edge of the forest, are ideal in the event of falling snow, provide protection from wind and also have steeper sections.

Many inns with cosy bars, traditional huts and sunny terraces entice you to take a break, whilst Ramsau's bus service offers an additional, energy-saving option.
We've put together a winter hiking map for you, with hiking trails and trail descriptions, so that you can plan your route.
