Top sportsmen use Ramsau am Dachstein as a year-round, indoor and outdoor training centre. The Nordic Centre of Excellence's performance diagnostics, sports medicine and training guidance will satisfy the highest expectations. The Performance Centre is not only available to professional athletes, but can also be used by all amateur sportsmen and visitors.

The Performance Centre provides a weights room incorporating state-of-the-art equipment, exercise bikes and running machines, a 9-metre climbing wall whose routes progress to difficulty 9, and a gymnasium. At its heart is a running machine suitable for roller skiing, with adjustable speed and slope. The 4.5 by 3-metre running surface imitates Olympic courses in dry training. There are also facilities which simulate altitude training. The "glass cage", which sits over a running belt, makes it possible for sportsmen to simulate training in oxygen-depleted air at up to 2,600 metres. It is even possible, with respiratory therapy, to simulate altitudes of up to 6,500 metres.
