Erlebnis Rittisberg
THE activity mountain for young and old!
THE activity mountain in Ramsau am Dachstein adds variety to family and winter holidays. There's always something happening at Rittisberg. Even a stroll along the fairytale trail becomes an unforgettable experience. Rittisberg's many attractions make it a real land of adventure for young and old alike and provide plenty of good reasons why families should spend their mountain and hiking holidays here! www.rittisberg.at

NEW: Dachstein electric motocross park
The new Dachstein electric motocross park offers a unique experience for young and old. Sit yourself on a Quantya bike, rev it up and hear... nothing! The bike is noiseless and environmentally friendly, but has a healthy dose of power. There is a beginners and a pro park, and there are separate children's bikes for children from the age of 5, providing a playful way for even young children to develop their balance and increase their fitness.
"Rittisberg Coaster" toboggan run
Since 2008 Ramsau am Dachstein's recreational activities have been enhanced by another attraction – the Rittisberg Coaster all-weather toboggan run. This Alpine coaster's one- to two-seater sleds race silently down the mountain on steel rails, and access to the top is via a separate lift system. The special thing about this ride is that drivers can choose the speed at which they travel. The tracks run at heights of up to six metres above the ground and offer a 1,300 metre adrenalin rush www.rittisberg.at

Forest Park high ropes course
No holidaymaker should miss the "Forest Park" high ropes course! The high ropes course has been constructed from ropes, wires and tree trunks in an area of forest adjoining the leisure centre. Great emphasis has been placed on not damaging the trees. There are four courses, of varying degrees of difficulty, laid out between the 30-metre high firs, with a separate course for young children lower down. Equipped with a climbing rope, harness and helmet, participants have to overcome the obstacles between the trees, in the form of jumps, swings or rope and net bridges, at heights of 2 to 15 metres. An exciting experience for young and old, requiring a dash of courage and will power! www.forestpark.at

"Who needs the sea when there's a lake like this!"
Visitors can splish and splash to their heart's content at "Ramsau Beach" leisure park, at the foot of Rittisberg mountain. There is a wealth of leisure activities here for water babies young and old – the "Pirates' hide-out" children's play area, a massive sand pit, a 20-metre high swing boat, a tower to jump from, a trampoline, beach volleyball court and sliding soccer (a slippery, fun, football game). The 6,000 m² bathing lake is surrounded by an equally spacious sunbathing lawn for relaxing, playing or simply sun worshipping. As if that were not enough, the "Ramsauna", a group of lodges with, amongst others, a Finnish sauna and steam bath, might tempt you to a cosy warm health treatment on a cooler summer day.
Film lovers also have a good time at Ramsau Beach, on a giant outdoor screen, during the summer holidays. From the start of July to the end of August the latest hit films are shown once a week at the "Sternenkino" starlight cinema (in the Ramsau centre if the weather is inclement). Many other activities are offered on an almost daily basis, such as the camp fire festival or children's afternoons. www.beach.co.atArchery experience
Whilst some clamber through the treetops, those with sporting ambitions who prefer to keep their feet on the ground can practice their archery skills. After instruction at the shooting range in the correct techniques, you'll set off, equipped with bow and arrow like a modern-day Robin Hood, on a trail through the woods incorporating 3D targets. This mental exercise, combined with stress-free outdoor activity in peaceful countryside, is in contrast to action-packed activities, whilst focussing on the target promotes mental strength and inner calm.

Enjoyable family hikes
In addition to fun and excitement, Rittisberg also offers a wealth of hiking trails. The easy fairytale trail takes hikers past many lovely characters telling exciting tales, and on to the Rittisstadl. Children should pay close attention to the characters, because when they get to the top there is a little prize for every child who correctly answers the questions. Having reached Rittisberg, don't miss the magic of the family-friendly huts. The pretty Rittisberg circular "From hut to hut" hike is highly recommended. It can be joined at various points, and some huts have lots of lovely animals waiting to be petted by all their visitors.
Anyone looking for a special way to come down the mountain can take the Alpine scooters from Rittisstadl – fun for the whole family as you scoot down the Rittisberg!

The new viewing tower at the summit cross (1,582 m) offers a fabulous panorama of the Dachstein area, the Schladming Tauern mountains, the Ennstal valley, and the Hochkönig range as far as the Großglockner. The Rittisberg's summit is an easily achievable goal for anyone. Even children's buggies can be effortlessly pushed up this path. If all you want is the summit experience, then the Rittisberg chairlift [Rittisberg Sessellift] is the totally effortless way to get "aufi aufn Berg" – up and onto the mountain.
