Riding holidays in Ramsau am Dachstein
There is a tradition of horse breeding, ancient customs and nostalgic events associated with horses in Ramsau am Dachstein. The horse-breeding club has been in existence for 85 years and will celebrate its anniversary at the Spring Festival of Horses 2010. A ride on one of the 40 horse-drawn coaches is an absolute must, and there are plenty of opportunities if you want to try horse riding for yourself, including on your own horse, as livery is also available.

Equestrianism is one of the most natural sporting activities. Discovering the countryside using the world's oldest form of horse power first and foremost promotes a feeling of happiness. Horses are essential here, to both farming and leisure. The stables are located on the high Ramsau am Dachstein plateau, which provides a splendid setting in which to enjoy equestrian sport to the full. Bridle paths are perfectly maintained and signposted summer and winter alike.

The location and the wonderful mountain panorama are an open invitation to prolonged rides. It is possible to ride from one picturesque farmstead to the next along a 200 km network of bridleways and discover Ramsau am Dachstein to your heart's content in the process. There's practically everything that horse lovers could want – riding, dressage, games and jumping, as well as lessons with ponies and carriage rides. Equestrian sport is superbly catered for at two stables – Reiterhof Brandstätter and Reitsportzentrum Zechmannhof.
Many farms offer pony rides and trekking. Ortnerhof, Schlapferhof. Ponyreiten und Ausritte sind auf vielen Bauernhöfen möglich!
