Not only is Ramsau am Dachstein a spa resort with healthy air, where you can recharge your batteries in unspoilt natural surroundings and feel at home with welcoming hosts, you can also "take the air" for your health as you walk through one of the three hikeable levels in Ramsau am Dachstein. The fascinating world of adventure that is Ramsau am Dachstein extends from gentle walks across the high plateau, over the mountain pastures, to the imposing south face of the Dachstein range, where more than 200 kilometres of perfectly signposted hiking trails offer something to suit every hiking taste.

Hot tip: the 5 hut trail

Styria's most popular hiking trail, the 5 hut or Dachstein trail, can be found in the shadow of the south wall of the Dachstein range. The hiking trail takes you from the heart of Ramsau am Dachstein into the high mountain meadows, accompanied by the majestic, protective walls of the Dachstein range, with the Dachstein itself towering over everything. The pale, four-kilometre wide south wall rears up above pale larch forests and mountain pastures dotted with mountain chalets, horses, cattle and sheep. This traditional hiking trail is one of the most impressive hikes (736 metres in altitude), with superb views and wonderful experiences for young and old.
